People Ross Seymour

Principal

Ross is a Principal in Grimshaw’s Sydney office, with over twenty years of experience in the industry. Throughout his career, he has worked across a range of sectors in Australia, the UK, China and Greece.

Ross also has a rich portfolio of major sporting venues across the world – he has been involved in the design stages of the last five consecutive Olympic Games, including the design for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Stadium and the Rio 2016 Olympic Master Plan competition. Additionally, he was the project lead of the design team for the Beijing Olympic Green northern precinct master plan, which encompassed a 166,000 sq m tennis complex, hockey centre and archery range.

Ross has worked extensively at Sydney Airport, developing concepts for a new line maintenance facility at the airport for Qantas, which can accommodate eight A380 aircraft. Recently he undertook the development of the Sydney’s Terminal 2 Master Plan, consolidating existing proposals into a comprehensive and combined strategy.

He is keenly aware of the difficult balance between design and brief aspirations, taking into consideration the complex technical and services requirements of large-scale projects, especially that of international stadia and sporting venues of a similar scale.
