People Jason Embley

Principal

Jason has worked for Grimshaw since 1995. His strong design ability and analytical approach have seen him develop a broad portfolio of projects of differing typologies, scale and complexity. Jason has a wealth of technical knowledge and on-site experience and takes great pleasure from being involved in the whole process, from client/stakeholder briefing and design concept through construction to completion.

Jason is currently leading the design teams for the 385 Bourke Street → redevelopment, which contains a 5-star office tower, retail offer and public realm in Melbourne’s central business district; and is a key part of the team responsible for the development of the Melbourne Wholesale Markets. His recent work also includes the Al Farjan Playgrounds in Doha, Qatar, and the redevelopment of the Highpoint Retail Centre in Melbourne →.

Jason brings knowledge from a diverse range of projects, including work in the Commercial, Retail, Master Planning, Sport and Residential sectors. He has also been responsible for progressing Grimshaw’s approach to sustainable design, developed over a number of high-profile projects in Australia.

Prior to moving to Australia from the UK in 2003, Jason worked from concept design to completion on the new Grandstand at Lord's Cricket Ground → before completing the competition-winning design for the National Space Centre →.
