Initially based in Melbourne, David relocated to Grimshaw's New York office in 2008 to work as a Project Architect for a potential luxury boutique hotel in Austin, Texas. He quickly rose to a leadership position, and today he manages some of the practice’s most technologically-advanced and high-performance commissions.

Most recently David's work with Disney and Google highlights an ability to guide analysis and exploration to help drive consensus with clients and key stakeholders, bringing ideas quickly to resolution, and maintaining design vision throughout all projects phases with large, multi-disciplinary teams.

As a Lead Designer in the New York studio, David leads charettes and workshops for projects around the world, and collaborates with other Grimshaw studios to challenge design ideas for projects such as the new Eden Project in Qingdao, China; and Olderfleet, an office tower in Melbourne, Australia for which the initial concept was the result of a two-week design process involving the firm's London, New York, Melbourne and Sydney offices.

David is a registered architect in Australia. He earned his Master of Architecture from The University of Melbourne. His design work has been published in various magazines and received prestigious accolades including The Melbourne University Castels, Stephenson and Turner Award for his contribution to the profession.
