Ian Chapman is the Chief Financial Officer responsible for Grimshaw’s financial strategy, performance and capital planning across its international studios.

With over 20 years’ experience in strategic finance, M&A and operational leadership, Ian’s career has focused on scaling organisations through growth and transition, strengthening financial performance and resilience. His experience within complex, globally distributed organisations and structures, including Hanover Communications and Avenir Global, gives Ian insight and oversight into systems and disciplines that work across sectors and markets to maintain long-term resilience and delivery.

Working closely with Grimshaw’s global partners and leadership team, Ian aligns the practice strategy with financial acumen supporting investment in people, projects and practice initiatives that advance Grimshaw’s design leadership, brand reputation and evolution.

Ian began his career at KPMG and is a Chartered Accountant (ICAEW).
