A robust series of street furniture, the designs of New York’s JCDecaux range are assembled from a kit-of-parts to create a shared identity between each piece, and streamline the process of their manufacture.

Equally, each of the pieces in the range – bus shelters, newsstands and public conveniences – are conceived to endure the unremitting environment of the city’s streets and include elements of stainless steel and tempered or laminated glazing, all of which are high quality self-finishing materials that withstand heavy use.

Bus shelters set the tone of the pieces. Each is formed of two ground fixings that support a fully glazed wall and a cantilevered roof of translucent panels to protect from sun and rain.

The design creates a transparent yet identifiable shelter that blends into the urban environment while clearly communicating individual locations.
