The Science and Engineering Building (SEB), with the Esme Timbery Building and Alumni Green, completes the transformation of the Sciences and Engineering Precinct initiated with the earlier Hilmer Building.

45,000m² of research laboratories and teaching facilities are accommodated between two conjoined buildings. Both front the extricated social space of the civic scaled Alumni Green, which simultaneously folds over the subterranean performance art theatres and creates an elevated tiered platform that overlooks the gardens of the Round House.

An integrated ensemble of high performance laboratories, performance arts and teaching facilities, and landscaped space help re-define the UNSW campus.

The SEB continues the modular and adaptable organizational structure of the Hilmer Building modified in dimension to suit precisely its specific research function.
