A Joint Venture agreement between Development Victoria - the Victorian Government’s property developer and major project agency - and the Australian Football League (AFL) will explore redevelopment opportunities at two prominent Docklands sites on Harbour Esplanade to transform the waterfront.
Grimshaw is commissioned by AFL and Development Victoria to explore this major new Docklands development for 140 and 160 Harbour Esplanade to create a new mixed-use harbourside precinct, civic public realm, and a range of uses including new housing, commercial, destination food and beverage, and entertainment.
The commission also continues the practice’s upgrade of Marvel Stadium → along Harbour Esplanade. The Victorian Government has previously committed $225 million towards Marvel Stadium’s redevelopment to bring world-class sporting and entertainment events to Melbourne for the next 30 years.
