BIM Coordinator, Sydney

We currently have an exciting opportunity available for a BIM coordinator to join our Sydney office. This role will support project teams in the use of BIM tools and workflows on project work.

Key responsibilities include:

·Maintaining all project BIM models and associated project BIM documents and data, to ensure the prescribed performance and quality levels satisfy specific project BIM requirements and Grimshaw BIM Standards.

·Initial project set-up, ensuring BIM models remain free from errors and are achieving the required Levels of Development while managing outputs and performing BIM coordination exercises.

·Advanced knowledge of and proven practical background in Autodesk Revit and related BIM authoring software.

·A methodical approach to problem-solving is required and the ability to rapidly pick up new software skills is essential.

·Solid understanding of legacy BIM / CAD applications and practices, particularly Autodesk AutoCAD / Bentley Microstation.

·Experience in model federation workflows using Navisworks.

·Experience working with Solibri and IFC formats highly regarded.

·Familiarity with design applications such as McNeel Rhinoceros and experience with interoperability with Revit is beneficial.

·Additional knowledge of Dynamo / Grasshopper is highly beneficial.

Business System Analyst, Australia

Working as key member of our Global System team, the Business Systems Analyst provides support to the business on the use of our bespoke company software, including engaging, training and reviewing company processes to aide the development of the practice, ensuring timely resolution of queries and taking steps to reduce recurring issues and improve operating efficiencies.

As Business Systems Analyst you will:

  • Provide support to project teams and support departments on use of bespoke company software, whilst working in line with our QA and ISO standards.
  • Provide training and coaching on the relevant systems when required.
  • Be responsible for reviewing company processes to aide the development of the practice.
  • Provide efficient Business Systems support for staff and respond to user issues within an acceptable time frame.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of the business to understand risks, opportunities and impacts of
  • changes to existing processes and systems.
  • Look for opportunities for continuous improvement to the development of systems, identifying gaps
  • and making recommendations. This may include updating or implementing policies and procedures.

The person we are looking for will have:

BIM Specialist, New York

Overview

The main role of the BIM Specialist is to support Grimshaw architectural project teams in the use of BIM tools and workflows, specifically Autodesk Revit. The BIM Specialist provides technical support directly to project team members and reports to the Project BIM Manager, providing feedback on the team’s requirements for training, workflows or content.

Project Accountant, Sydney

We have an exciting opportunity available for a Project Accountant to join our practice at our Sydney office, located in the Sydney CBD.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be a key and highly visible member of the Grimshaw Australia Finance team. In this broad ranging role, you will champion Project Accounting across the Australian practice including business partnering with Project Leads to ensure project profitability, manage cash flow and AR nationally and work with the rest of the Finance team on month end and reporting requirements.

This is a unique opportunity to get real business experience and truly see the impact you make on a daily basis!

Key responsibilities include:

  • Business partner with Project Leads on all project accounting needs including fees, project budgets, project reconciliations, resourcing, sub consultants, invoicing and collections.
  • Champion the project management software across the Australian practice (CMAP) including running training sessions.
  • Manage AR for the Australian practice including preparing weekly debtors reports and highlighting issues across the practice.
  • Prepare rolling 13 week cash flow forecast and liaise with the Financial Controller regarding cash management.
  • Maintain the rolling revenue forecast including the project pipeline.
  • Responsible for revenue and project costs for month end and reporting purposes.
  • Prepare the project profitability report monthly as well as present it to project leads highlighting important insights to effect change.
  • Assist in balance sheet reconciliations, year end and audit requirements.
  • Oversee payment of sub consultants.
  • Other ad hoc duties from time to time.

2019 Summer Intern - New York,

Program Description

In the New York Studio you will work collaboratively in a team environment, perform design and technical production of documents through all phases of architecture. This role includes coordinating with the project team, model shop. You will learn about the daily realities of architectural practice, acquire comprehensive experience in basic practice areas, explore specialized areas of practice, and develop professional judgment.

Specific knowledge, skills and techniques will be learned:

  • Understand Grimshaw’s design ethos and execution strategies
  • Research and evaluate project requirements, building code, zoning regulation, site data to develop recommendations on the feasibility of a project
  • Understand implication of evolving sustainable design strategies and technologies
  • Understand design integration of building components and systems
  • Communicate design ideas with hand drawings, 2D, 3D computer aided design software, Building Information Modeling (BIM)

Skills & Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate architectural degree program
  • Knowledge of 2D CAD and 3D modeling using some/all of the following: Rhinoceros, Grasshopper, Revit
