The new La Défense station, by the IntenCités15* consortium, is part of the future South section of line 15 West of the Grand Paris Express and will link the Pont de Sèvres station to Europe's leading business district.
Located between Place Louise Bourgeois in Puteaux and the business district, in the dense Rose de Cherbourg area, the station is designed as a large, glazed structure which, in character, will sit harmoniously within this changing urban district.
Integrating the station within the existing transport network, the development of this complex project will be predominantly underground. At ground level the volume of the entrance hall allows light to flood the passenger circulation spaces, and a green roof links to the landscaping of the existing bridge that connects the various levels of the area.
Connecting passengers from the ground level station entrance on Place Louis Bourgeois to the platform 39.8 metres below ground, is a network of escalators and tunnels running under RN1013. The scale of the station entrance belies the expanse of the construction which includes transfer corridors linking the station to existing infrastructure in the area, in particular the Cœur Transport hub and the RER A and E lines.
The station will contribute to the development of this urban district in the making, along with other projects within the western suburbs of Paris, such as the Campuséa student residence (2018), the Hekla Tower (2022), and the Rose de Cherbourg development (2023).
