Inspired by the lean tail wings of aircraft, as much as the elongated limbs of the Mantis family, the Elements Table is co-designed by Grimshaw and Italian furniture manufacturer Cassina Contract.
Formed from only four laser-cut elements, the table seamlessly connects to create a light, durable piece of furniture that uses steel with economy.
Its surprising strength derives from the layers of slim 6 mm metal components that fit together with hairline joints, separated by discs, and fixed flush together with countersunk bolts.
The fine structural members support a large glass top, and each table can be customised with different colours for finishes and glazing, and rectangular or elliptical shapes.
