People Annelie Kvick Thompson

Principal

Since joining Grimshaw in 1997, Annelie has progressed to become a senior member of the practice’s international design team. As a Principal her role involves the direction and leadership of large and complex projects which often incorporate transport with mixed-use regeneration. She thrives on working collaboratively with clients, stakeholders and design teams to establish the project vision, key principles, and methodology to achieve world-class, innovative solutions.

Annelie enjoys working at the scale of the city and in fine grain detail, and her experience spans a broad range of sectors and project scales, including strategic urban and master planning projects, aviation and transport infrastructure, education and research, commercial, residential, public domain integration and industrial design. She played a key role in establishing Grimshaw’s office in Sydney, Australia, in 2010 before returning to London in 2016.

During her time in Sydney, Annelie led Grimshaw’s input into several major projects, including the Central to Eveleigh master plan for Urban Growth NSW, the Central Station Blueprint, and Sydney’s CBD and South East Light Rail project for Transport for New South Wales.

Since returning to the UK, Annelie has continued to lead transport-led concept design and master plan projects, such as the redevelopment of a major central London station and over-site mixed-use developments, and town centre regeneration.
