Since joining Grimshaw in 1997, Annelie has progressed to join the practice Partnership. Her role involves the direction and leadership of large and complex projects which often incorporate transport with mixed-use regeneration. She thrives on working collaboratively with clients, stakeholders and design teams to establish the project vision, key principles, and methodology to achieve world-class, innovative solutions.

Annelie enjoys working at the scale of the city and in fine grain detail, and her experience spans a broad range of sectors and project scales, including strategic urban and master planning projects, aviation and transport infrastructure, education and research, commercial, residential, public domain integration and industrial design.

Throughout her career, Annelie has gained experience both working in Europe through her time in London and France, and in the southern hemisphere playing a key role in the establishment of Grimshaw’s Sydney office in Australia, from 2010 to 2016. Throughout her time at the practice, Annelie has worked on and led several large-scale transport interchange plans for major international clients. These include Transport for London and HS2, working on projects at Euston →, Manchester and Paddington → stations in the UK, and Transport for New South Wales in Australia, on three city-building projects of nation-wide significance.

As a key member of the practice’s leadership team, Annelie regularly attends, organises and speaks at industry events contributing to thought leadership and planning strategy as well as sharing her knowledge through academic lectures, tutoring and design reviews.
