The Grimshaw team celebrated at the Architects' Journal AJ100 Awards after being crowned Practice of the Year, and also winning Building of the Year for London Bridge station →.
Practice of the Year is based on quality of design output and business achievements. Judges complimented the practice’s exemplary design strategy and growth, while our new diversity strategy drew particular praise. ‘The work they are doing in diversity is remarkable and should impact on other big practices,’ one judge remarked.
London Bridge station continued a fantastic run of award wins by winning Building of the Year. ‘Hugely impressive – a giant of a project’ and ‘does grandeur with huge modesty’ were just a couple of the comments from Judges.
The practice also drew praise for skillfully managing a huge team and complex project, while the merits of the station as a successful civic development as well as an infrastructure project were also commended.
Congratulations to all involved in the project, and at the practice.
