On Friday 1st March, two major Grimshaw projects were awarded prestigious Civic Trust Awards during a ceremony in Manchester.

London Bridge station → collected a Civic Trust Award, as well as a Special Award for Transportation and Infrastructure, as an exemplar scheme. The station, which opened in mid-2018, has won a number of awards for its positive contribution to the urban infrastructure of London, and for acting as a positive driver of change in the area by connecting communities and providing much needed extra capacity.

The University of Bangor's Arts and Innovation Centre → also won a Civic Trust Award, with the Judges commenting that Pontio was “a well worked scheme on a difficult sloping site which has been developed to provide an inclusive use of spaces.”

Similarly to London Bridge station, the Arts and Innovation Centre is notable for the way it connects different elements of its surrounds, enhancing the quality of its environment.
