Articles Smoking Ceremony and ground breaking takes place for the Gunyama Park Aquatic and Recreation Centre

Construction today began on the Gunyama Park Aquatic and Recreation Centre (GPARC) in Green Square, Sydney, following a ceremonial Smoking Ceremony.

Following the ceremony, and first sod-turning on the site, the ground is ready for work to ramp up on the largest pool complex built in Sydney since the 2000 Olympic Games.

In collaboration with Andrew Burges Architects and landscape archtiect Taylor Cullity Lethlean, the facility will include the construction of a 40-metre outdoor pool, a 25-metre indoor pool, and a series of hydrotherapy and leisure pools in and around the complex.

The park is due to complete in 2020. Find out more about the development area here →
