Southern Cross Station is now 10 years old, and Grimshaw, in collaboration with Open House Melbourne and Southern Cross Station, is hosting an Instagram photo competition to mark the occasion.

During the month of July, you are invited to share your photos of Southern Cross Station to celebrate the station’s role in the city and what it means to the people of Melbourne and Victoria.

Top shots will be featured as part of a week-long exhibition to be held in August at our Melbourne studio, with the three best entries to be selected by a panel of judges. A People’s Choice Award will also be up for grabs.

How to enter:

1. Download the Instagram app for Android or iPhone

2. Take and edit your photo

3. Upload your photo to Instagram and tag @grimshawarch → and #scssnap2017

If your image is shortlisted, we recommend you provide a jpg file of the image no later than Friday 4 August.

Competition commences at 12.00am (AEST) Monday, 3 July 2017 and closes at 11.59pm (AEST), Monday, 31 July 2017. Top three winners will be announced Thursday, 17 August, 2017. People’s Choice Award announced Wednesday, 23 August, 2017

The top three winners, and the winner of the People’s Choice Award, must be able to collect their prize in person from our Melbourne studio between 16 and 31 August 2017. Grimshaw will shortlist no more than 100 entries, each of which will form part of the #scssnap2017 exhibition, to be held at our Melbourne studio from 17-23 August.

We’ll endeavour to contact and notify the shortlisted entries via their Instagram account by 5pm, Tuesday 1 August 2017 (AEST). If your image is shortlisted, you’ll need to provide a high resolution JPEG file of the image to us by 5pm, Friday 4 August 2017 (AEST).

Each shortlisted image will be printed as a 30cm x 3cm size image. It is therefore recommended that the photographs are taken using a camera with 12 megapixels or more.
